Drilling equipment

Allrig has decades of experience of removal, refurbishment, reinstallation and commissioning of full drilling packages including BOPs, drawworks, mud pumps, independent rotary drives and other assorted equipment. Existing equipment is remanufactured to OEM standards and tested to operating requirements before being returned to the original rig or installed on a different vessel. This process offers vessel owners a lower cost, faster alternative to new equipment procurement and commissioning.

Jacking systems 

Allrig has long history of performing jacking system inspections, working hand-in hand with all relevant class bodies worldwide, both on site and in workshops. Services vary from inspections either annually or at 5 year SPS, to inspections for special circumstances such as post bad weather events or operational events.

MLT cranes

We provide crane inspection services for many of the major drilling contractors around the globe, utilizing our team of API RP2D 7th edition trained inspectors. Collectively, we have well over 100 years of crane experience to offer clients. Inspection and testing intervals can be annual, every 5 years, or conducted for special purposes.

Load testing and certification

We have a capacity of up to 400T on using water weights and hydraulic jacking kits. These systems can be designed to suit any application, including difficult-to-access areas where rope access techniques are necessary.

Lifting equipment surveys

We know that compliance is essential and we can carry out the necessary lift inspections you need to be in compliance. Allrig is an audited and approved Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) member. We provide the inspections in accordance with LEEA or North Sea Lifting (NSL) requirements.

Boroscopic inspection and testing

To prevent downtime, Allrig offers complete boroscopic inspections of all gear types. Using state of the art equipment, we identify any possible damage within an enclosed gearbox at an early stage.
Seachest & valve boroscope (No dive UWILD)
Allrig has developed a cost-effective method for inspecting seachest valves and grating, which does not require costly diving. Using an underwater boroscope we can access and perform a condition inspection of the valves and grating. We also offer ROV fly-by UWILDs where inspections are performed without the need for dive teams. To minimize downtime, Allrig can also perform water blasting for either utilization with ROV or from inboard via same port during the boroscope inspection.

Drill pipe, bottom hole assembly (BHA) & oil country tubular goods (OCTG)

To support your continuing operations, Allrig provides portable BHA & drill pipe inspections on a range of components utilized in the industry. The BHA inspection units are completely mobile facilitating utilization on land or at offshore drilling sites. The units include portable prefacing units for API rotary connections. Allrig’s inspections are in accordance with TH Hill DS1, API RP7G-2 & NS-2.

Dropped object prevention scheme (DROPS) surveys

Surveys are critical to minimizing problems and Allrig is able to conduct DROPS surveys of all types of structures, ranging in scale from simple removal of loose items to a complete inventory of equipment within the structure. We can assess the integrity of fittings and secondary retention and create a DROPS photographic report to allow non-specialist client staff to conduct interim inspections.

High pressure (HP) & low pressure (LP) piping & air pressure vessels

To safeguard smooth system performance, Allrig provides detailed HP/LP piping corrosion monitoring surveys in accordance with ASME B31.3, API 570 & API RP53, including API 510 inspection and testing of pressure vessels. Typical systems that we provide monitoring of include:

Acoustic emissions (noise) surveys

Allrig offers noise level surveys to identify areas that are outside of the specified auditory limit or may be zoned incorrectly. Our expert surveyors will highlight the probable causes and provide recommendations for rectifying the zoning, or decreasing the noise level where possible.

EX surveys

Like you, Allrig values safety. That is why our EX surveys of all installed EX equipment are complete and comprehensive and carried out by technicians and electricians who have experience in the inspection and compliance of electrical installations in potentially explosive zones. Allrig surveyors comply with all of the latest international standards, codes, regulations and best practices. We ensure clients meet legal obligations and ensure that facilities and/or MODUs are safer and hazard-free with regards to electrically induced explosive scenarios. Survey reports include a comprehensive EX register, updated zone drawings and recommendations for rectification of all non-compliances.

Well control equipment inspections

To maximize operational time, Allrig offers detailed reviews of the overall condition and operability of an extensive range of BOPs and associated control systems. We make sure they are maintained, inspected, certified and tested to the required level of protection throughout its operational life. We adhere to the IADC Well Control Guidelines, as well as to relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.

Infrared thermography

With our smart thermographic services, we save on downtime. Allrig surveys electrical systems to highlight potential problems caused by abnormal heating associated with high resistance (poor contact) or excessive current flow. We can quickly locate abnormal thermal signatures, pinpointing problems among the hundreds of thousands of electrical connections. Surveys include a detailed photographic report highlighting all areas that need attention.

Vibration analysis

To catch problems before they arise, Allrig provides a range of instrumentation and data logging solutions to record, characterize and understand intermittent problems or long-term performance issues due to vibration. Using these tools and methods we can identify vibration and fatigue problems, avoid problems arising, or solve any that arise during construction, commissioning and operational phases. By using experience-based visual and measurement surveys during the commissioning phase, Allrig’s vibration experts assess pipework integrity risk and the general condition of rotating machinery. We then identify short and long-term mitigation measures that allow commissioning and early operations to continue.

LUX surveys

Allrig understands that good lighting is vital to safety and performance. Our light measurement surveys investigate the illuminance flux (LUX) levels of general lighting and task lighting on vessels and work places. The main objective is to determine whether the various lighting systems comply with minimum standards to accommodate personnel’s visual task performance and to facilitate their movements, wellbeing, and safety on board vessels and work places. Surveys determine the potential hazards arising from the work activity under the current lighting condition in the workplace, such as insufficient illumination, excessive contrast, glare or flicker, and evaluate the risks and decide whether improvement measures are needed to protect the employees.

PRV & gauges

Using our mobile workshops, Allrig is able to perform the following inspections with a testing limit of up to 40,000 PSI. Our fully certified technicians can repair and replace spare parts on board the vessel, leaving the systems fit for use and in accordance with ASME, API , ISO and IEC.
